At IWA OutdoorClassics 2025 in Germany, HS Produkt unveiled a new pistol-caliber submachine gun: the Kuna. This weapon has already had some success by winning the military police tender for the state of São Paulo in Brazil. If you recognize it, it’s because it runs under the name Springfield Armory Kuna in the USA and TFB already reviewed it.

According to the specs, the Kuna features a lightweight aluminum receiver, a polymer grip, and a folding, adjustable stock. All controls are fully ambidextrous, and the handguard includes M-LOK slots for mounting Picatinny rails. A full-length top Picatinny rail integrates folding mechanical sights.

It operates on a roller-delayed blowback system with a single upper roller. The non-reciprocating charging handle is foldable and can be mounted on either side. The Kuna feeds from proprietary polymer magazines with steel feed lips.

These seemed chambered in 9mm, but there is also a .40 S&W version available, which can be found here: https://www.hs-produkt.hr/military-led/kuna-40sw

We like the concept that fine Croat gun manufacturers opted to wisely add 40 cal.for the Kuna.* Should be 10mm though ..otherwise theres an ice cube s chance in Hell that..other than big cost effective rigged military buyers will express much interest..not every one wants everything in 9.mm.**

With so many short barrel rifles available in 5.56, 6mm, 6.5mm, 6.8mm, 7.62 and .350 legend and .400 Legend

I just don't see the necessity for pistol caliber subguns.
