LWRCI REPR MkII with a Pulsar Thermion XL60 LRF thermal riflescope and an A-Tech Marksman suppressor. The LWRCI is the Elite version, which came with a carbon fiber barrel from Proof Research. Because Olive Drab Green Cerakoted rifles are faster and better, that’s how I ordered mine, at a $165 surcharge.

In my opinion, the carbon fiber barrel is pure porn, but it’s all about functionality. The Proof barrels perform really well, and I can free-hand this rifle pretty easily due to the reduced weight, where it matters most.

The A-Tech Marksman suppressor (Made In Norway) is a beast too, and unfortunately adds some weight in the wrong place (like all suppressors). It’s all worth it still, as it makes things quite quiet. If you feel you need to shoot without a suppressor, just detach it, and you have a great muzzle brake to reduce recoil.

With regards to detaching things, the optics mount is a QD mount from Spuhr, so I can switch to my Kahles K328i riflescope when I need a daytime optic.

The hearing protection by Sordin is worth mentioning as well. I thought I had pretty good hearing protection until I tried these. These are by far the most comfortable I’ve ever worn, thanks to the sealing rings, and the sound quality is great. The model is called Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED, and has a built-in LED (yet to be tried).

And this is what the fields look like right now, at least during the daytime. Can you recognize the animals? Fallow deer is the correct answer, but what you cannot see until darkness falls, and until you turn on the Pulsar Thermal riflescope, are the wild boar, tearing down the fields.

This LWRCI is a side charger, chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Hornady Hunter is my ammunition of choice so far. The bolt is pretty heavy, she ain’t no .223 Rem., and perhaps that OD Green Cerakote added something to the tolerances.

Why the green magazine, you ask? To make it legal for hunting, it’s limited to five rounds only, and given that I have a few other magazines lying around, green equals hunting for me.

Hi Eric, but are you using subsonic loads? Because in this case, the terminal energy (say at 100m) of a 6,5Creedmoor is barely sufficient for a fox.

But of course. I don't shoot 6.5 Subs, but I have tried .308 Win Subs (in another rifle, of course) and they are extremely quiet. But they drop quick as there's no energy.

A suppressor will still help with the noise and the flash.

Forgive my ignorance. So what exactly is the difference between a 308 sub and 300 blackout sub?
