The limited edition Cabot Guns pistols are usually embellished with elaborate engravings and textures, however, the one we have for today’s Photo Of The Day was created with a drastically different approach. Inspired by mirror architecture, the Cabot Cloak 1911 pistol is polished to a mirror finish, which, by reflecting the surrounding objects, makes the gun virtually disappear in the environment as if covered by a cloak of invisibility.

“The only way to achieve a mirror like finish without any wavy lines or orange peel distortion is to polish stainless steel BY HAND. If you use a wheel or try to chrome plate it you will blunt the corners and create a subtle funhouse mirror effect on the flats. Much like the flat facets on the F-117 stealth fighter’s ability to reflect radar waves away from the receiver, any distortions in the mirror finish will change the image reflected to the viewer and eliminate the “disappearing effect” cloak achieves.
The only solution is incredible skill and patience and some secret methods to get stainless steel to polish to this level.”

The price of the Cabot Guns Cloak pistol is $35,000. Over the last two years, there have been two Cloak pistols made and only two Cloak 1911s will be produced in 2026. If you want to add one to your collection, sign up to be notified when the 2026 Cloaks are available.
