POTD: The Heckler & Koch G39 - 9” Barrel In 300 Blackout

The German Army has ordered around 1,000 HK437 rifles for their Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK) elite unit, designated the G39. At EnforceTac in Germany, there was a chance to see the rifle live and take some images of the details. As you can imagine, it’s a very compact firearm and with the 300 Blackout, it’s able to deliver quite a punch.

The side-mounted back-up sights become very visible from this angle.

The magazine is grey, but the ammunition is “black”. HK Gen 3 PM, which can contain 30 rounds of 300 Blackout. Made in Germany.

The suppressor is made by A-Tech in Norway, A-Flow with QD-lock for caliber .300 BLK. Over the years, I have tried several of their suppressors and been very satisfied, but never a 300 BLK.

The height over bore becomes a bit higher this way, but it’s nice to have the laser in more or less the same optical axis.

Just wanted to share a quick thought— Rare Breed Triggers like the FRT-15 have been a game-changer for many AR builds. I’ve been lucky to track down a few recently, though it does take a bit of digging around these days.

For those still searching, there’s a spot that quietly stocks some interesting pieces. Let’s just say it’s worth checking places that sound more like a chemistry lab than a gun shop 😉.

Anyone else running these triggers? Would love to hear about your setup and any feedback on performance—especially for those who’ve had them for a while.

    Let’s keep the discussion rolling!
