FALCO Holsters Introduces New Carbon Fiber Holsters
Carbon fiber is an innovative material. It’s composed of a web of filaments woven in a specific pattern and mated with resin. On its own, carbon fiber is flexible and soft to the touch. When the proper amount of epoxy resin is added to the carbon fiber weave, a strong and lightweight bond is made.
Much like when rebar is added to strengthen concrete, the addition of the carbon fiber filament creates a much stronger product than epoxy resin would be alone. If you’ve ever wondered if adding some carbon fiber filament to your concealed carry regiment would give you a stronger carrying system, then I have good news. Falco has introduced their new genuine carbon fiber holster line.
According to Falco Holsters:
“Crafted entirely from genuine carbon fiber—a material renowned for its use in aviation, aerospace, and professional racing—these holsters are three times as durable as Kydex, offering steel-like strength at a fraction of the weight. The material’s slimmer profile reduces unnecessary bulk during concealed carry. Robert Kovac, CEO of FALCO Holsters, shared, “Thanks to our in-house production capabilities, we’re not just introducing another Kydex holster with a carbon fiber print, but holsters crafted from real carbon fiber. These holsters can be custom-made to fit over 2400 handguns and more than 100 rail-mounted lights, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of firearms.” The new FALCO carbon fiber holsters represent the next step in FALCO’s evolution, bringing cutting-edge materials and old-world craftsmanship to the forefront of everyday carry gear.”
It looks like they will have both inside-the-waistband and outside-the-waistband holsters available, in a myriad of configurations. Light bearing, non-light bearing, with claws, without claws, with sweat guard included and red dot sight ready are all on the table. There’s even an option for a hybrid IWB holster that pairs a breathable leather backplate with a strong carbon fiber shell.
As someone with experience in aerospace composites, I'm pretty excited to see these genuine carbon fiber holsters become available. We often see a carbon fiber print being added to a plastic, but it’s not the same thing as a true carbon fiber weave with epoxy. There’s often a depth and variation to the weave of a true carbon fiber product. The way the weave sits under the clear epoxy looks absolutely gorgeous in person, and the strength-to-weight ratio can’t be understated.

A fraction of the weight of a kydex holster, or a steel holster?
How is this any better than kydex? Carbon fiber is super cool, but this feels like a tacticool cash grab because it appears to be entirely superficial.
