New Trijicon RMR Type 2 Reflex Sight - 3.25 MOA Green Dot

Trijicon has released a 3.25 MOA Green Dot variant of the RMR Type 2 Adjustable LED reflex sight. The Trijicon RMR (Ruggedized Miniature Reflex) is well known on the market, but until now it hasn’t been available with a green dot of this small size. Manufactured in the USA, the RMR Type 2 is constructed from forged 7075-T6 aluminum to MIL-spec standards. It has been tested in extreme conditions by U.S. Special Operations, law enforcement, and hunters.
Trijicon @ TFB:
The sight’s patented housing design mitigates impact forces to protect the lens. Weighing 1.2 ounces, the compact and lightweight RMR is engineered for durability in harsh environments.
Why use a green dot, you may ask? Trijicon has this reply in their press release:
“Green dot sights take advantage of the human eye’s peak sensitivity to green wavelengths, making them appear brighter and easier to acquire in daylight, even at lower brightness settings—prolonging battery life. They maintain visibility in bright conditions, resist washout, and perform better in fog, haze, or against complex backgrounds. Green is easier on the eyes, reducing strain during prolonged use and provides a clearer aiming point for many with astigmatism or red-green color blindness. In both low-light and high-glare environments, green delivers vivid contrast and detail, enabling quicker target acquisition and sustained accuracy.”
The Trijicon RMR Type 2 Green Dot incorporates electronics and battery contacts engineered for enhanced reliability under high recoil and extreme conditions. A Button Lock Out Mode prevents unintended brightness adjustments. The Battery Conservation Mode automatically adjusts the dot’s brightness to match ambient light after 16.5 hours of inactivity, extending battery life without powering off.
The CR2032 lithium battery provides up to two years of operation at a medium brightness setting for the green adjustable LED. Audible windage and elevation adjustments enable precise zeroing without specialized tools.
Here’s a comparison, from Trijicon’s own demonstration video.
The MSRP is $810, slightly more than the red dot version, which is probably the worst part for most potential buyers. A sticker is included in the package.

$810 . . . . . inflation is real people.
They're already being listed for as low as $500, which isn't terrible for an optic that's made/assembled in the USA.
I'm a bit surprised that they're not offering this in the newer RCR instead, but maybe Trijicon has a lot of RMR bodies that they need to get rid of.
