I like to actually use my guns, and I typically don’t try to “baby” them. While most of the time I don’t go out of my way to outright mistreat them, they’re tools after all; I am far from the type to have any safe queens, let alone firearms that don’t get rotated in and out of use a couple of times a year. This is the same case for the Henry Golden Boy in .22 LR, which I covered in an earlier Rimfire Report. There's something about that Brasslite receiver that makes me want to treat it a little better than the rest of the collection when it's on duty, so when 1791 Gunleather sent over a couple of pieces from their 1791 Hunt collection, I was more than excited. These pieces are built specifically for lever guns like the Golden Boy, which is a platform that I often feel goes ignored when it comes to accessories, so today I figured it was worth finding out if the leather treatment actually earns its keep with my typical style of treatment, or if it just looks nice in pictures. Either way, it was a good excuse to check out a recent expansion in 1791’s already expansive leather holster collection, so let's get right to it.

PHLster is best known for its Enigma holster platform, which does not require a belt. There is now an even smaller version for use with micro-sized handguns. The Enigma Micro scales down the setup for use with guns like the S&W Bodyguard 2.

In this episode of TFB's Behind the Gun Podcast, I'm pleased to welcome back Dave Higginbotham, Product Marketing Manager at Safariland, for a conversation centered on the brand-new IncogXS, the latest holster to come out of the ongoing Safariland and Haley Strategic Partners collaboration. CrossBreed's newly announced fitments for the Staccato HD C4X tell a familiar story in the holster market: a compact carry gun draws ecosystem attention once it proves itself in the field. The C4X, the compact aluminum-frame version of Staccato's compensated platform, landed well enough in its first iteration that it's now attracting the depth of support usually reserved for flagships. Which makes sense, because a hard-use carry gun like the C4X demands holster solutions that match its versatility.

Idaho-based Tenicor has released the CERTUM4 and CERTUM LUX4, the fourth-generation versions of its most versatile concealment holster. Both models are available now at $125 and support IWB hip carry as well as AIWB appendix carry from the same platform, a defining characteristic of the CERTUM line since its inception.

Safariland and Haley Strategic Partners have been at this collaboration for a while now, and the Incog X line has earned its reputation in the EDC holster space. The new Incog XS seems like the logical next step, a trimmed-down, single-clip IWB option built specifically around the wave of subcompact and micro-compact pistols that have eaten up the concealed carry market over the past few years.

We will go through what materials are available and what will be best for you based on your needs and what firearm you prefer to carry.

At first glance, this announcement from FALCO Holsters looked like a naturally timed April Fools’ post - but it wasn’t. The Slovakian leather holster maker just dropped its new CarryArt series, kicking things off with two eye-catching leather OWB holsters that look like they’d be a hit at any summer BBQ: the CX14 Pineapple and  CX15 Strawberry. Like other FALCO Holsters, the new CarryArt series is built from the same full-grain Italian leather FALCO is known for. Along with the craftsmanship, customers should also expect the same positive retention and smooth draw while getting a few extra style points out of their daily carry gear. The Pineapple design is said to bring a bold textured surface, while the Strawberry features distinctive seed-shaped cutouts in the outer layer. Both holsters are offered in a compact open-top, open-bottom profile that accommodates threaded barrels and delivers fast, natural presentation.

"Hybrid" means a blend of two (or more) things into one new whole. Hybrid cars combine gasoline and electric power. Hybrid animals like pizzly bears and ligers blend facets of the parent species into something new. Hybrid holsters take the best parts of leather and rigid retention portions, and combine them in a way that optimizes the best parts of both. This article will look at hybrid holsters, their pros and cons, and when you might consider adding one to your rotation.

Black Trident has been selected as the winner of the SysPi SpezKr (System Pistol Special Forces) tender, securing a contract to supply holsters and carrying systems to key units within the Bundeswehr. The agreement covers equipment for the Special Forces Command (KSK), Naval Special Forces Command (KSM), and the military police. These units represent some of the most demanding operational environments, placing high requirements on durability, reliability, and functional performance.

The Glock Gen 6 series has unsurprisingly quickly captured attention across the shooting community. Now, FALCO Holsters, known for blending traditional leather craftsmanship founded in falconry, with modern materials like Kydex and carbon fiber, has announced full compatibility for all Gen 6 Glock models, including the Glock 17, 19, 45, and  49.

The holster is the pivot point of carrying a pistol. Everything rides on your ability to retain your weapon; otherwise, the individual is forced to carry or shove the weapon into less-than-preferred locations on the body. Even when carrying a compact or subcompact pistol, carrying can reveal an uncomfortable truth: comfort is everything. So, for the sake of this article, we are looking at what I consider the best holster for the Glock 43/43X. This subcompact platform can pack a lot of heat for being so reduced in size, but carrying a weapon that is significantly upgraded can become tricky when lights, optics, and, yes, even a compensator are added.

In the world of concealed carry, we always talk about the fastest and newest methods of carrying a concealed handgun. For some, it's an appendix carry style up front, while others prefer the latest and greatest Inside The Waistband Kydex holsters. For some, shoulder holsters are a great option for a number of reasons.

Welcome back to another TFB review. This week, I wanted to look at the Craft Holster Panther outside the waistband (OWB) holster. For the most part, inside the waistband (IWB) style holsters are typically the most commonly used holsters, but the classic outside the waistband belt-mounted holsters are some of the best choices when the weather starts to change. CrossBreed Holsters has announced the release of its new LightGuard Holster, expanding the company’s concealed-carry lineup to better support pistols equipped with weapon-mounted lights. Built on CrossBreed’s established MultiFlex platform, the LightGuard is designed to provide consistent retention, adaptability, and everyday comfort for both carry and range use.

Safariland has announced new holster fits for the recently introduced GLOCK Gen 6 series, covering the G17, G19, and G45 models. With the expansion, users of the updated pistols now have access to Safariland’s duty-grade retention systems as well as the company’s inside-the-waistband and everyday carry options. I played around on Safariland’s holster finder and searched for Gen 6 Glocks, and there were already quite a few options available.

Werkz is a company dedicated to helping customers carry their pistol, with all that that entails. Their lineup includes five styles of holsters, magazine carriers that either attach to your holster or standalone carriers, as well as weapon-mounted and handheld flashlights. Werkz saw my review of the CZ P-09C Nocturne pistol and asked if I’d review the Werkz Bisect Kydex Holster system, which is optimized for Appendix Inside the Waistband carry (AIWB). Although the Bisect is set up for appendix carry, the piggybacked magazine carrier can be separated so that the pistol holster can be carried with a smaller profile, or in a different position in the waistband. To say that the Werkz Bisect is a full-featured holster would be an understatement! Let’s see why.

Safariland has long been known for their rugged and durable holsters and gear. In their pursuit of giving gun owners a plethora of options, they introduced the Safariland Solis holster. The Solis is designed as an OWB (Outside the Waistband) holster that sits tight against the wearer’s hip, which led Safariland to bill the Solis as a concealment holster. While one could conceal the Solis under winter clothing, I tend to consider it as bridging the gap between duty holsters and deep concealment holsters. Suppressors on most handguns are pretty silly for most people and most applications. One of the rare exceptions to this is suppressors on .22LR handguns. The MK IV, although not specifically designed as such, has evolved into one of the best suppressor hosts over the years. With a fixed, often very accurate, pre-threaded barrel, the ability to mount optics, it's often the first choice of many for a first pistol suppressor host. However, one drawback of putting a suppressor on any pistol you plan to use at the range is that there’s typically no good place to put a hot suppressor-equipped pistol when you’re not using it. Today on The Rimfire Report, we’re checking out a great addition to the HUSH Holster lineup - their MK IV adapter, which solves this problem.

FALCO Holsters has announced a significant upgrade to its Kydex Duty Holster lineup, introducing a completely redesigned safety hood. This new mechanism enhances user safety and operational speed by repositioning the thumb-activated release button for smoother, faster draws and adding a protective shroud to prevent accidental release. The squared hood profile now supports reflex sights up to 1.18” in height, keeping compatibility with the latest law enforcement optics and iron sights.

It’s not a product that’s for everyone, but it’s one that I’m happy to support.
