Beretta (BDT UK) Secures Spot in UK Police Carbine Framework
We’ve previously reported on Glock and FN’s selection as part of the UK Police’s National Carbine Framework - when selected a number of designs from manufacturers which British police forces can now procure through the framework. Another of the companies that was successfully selected for the framework was Beretta Defense Technologies UK (GMK Ltd), which submitted the Beretta NARP, the New Assault Rifle Platform (NARP).
Here’s what Beretta Defense Technologies UK has to say about the selection:
“FAREHAM, UK – Beretta Defense Technologies (BDT) UK, operating through GMK Limited, is proud to announce that the Beretta New Assault Rifle Platform (NARP) has been successfully selected for the UK National Carbine Framework. Notably, the NARP distinguishes itself as one of the only piston-driven system to be appointed to the framework, marking a significant milestone in providing UK law enforcement and defense sectors with next-generation capability.
As a subsidiary of the Beretta Group—a global strategic alliance under the Beretta Holding umbrella—BDT UK leverages centuries of firearm expertise alongside modern, integrated defense solutions. The selection of the NARP reinforces the Group’s commitment to delivering mission-specific technology that meets the rigorous demands of modern operational environments.
Unmatched Reliability and Versatility
The Beretta NARP was engineered from the ground up to exceed the requirements of elite operators. Its selection as one of the sole piston-operated platforms on the framework highlights its superior fouling resistance and thermal management compared to traditional direct impingement systems.
Key highlights of the NARP’s inclusion include:
- Short Stroke Gas Piston System: Offering enhanced reliability and reduced maintenance cycles during high-tempo operations.
- Unique Ergonomics: The NARP is uniquely offered on the framework with a fully adjustable folding stock, providing operators with unparalleled modularity for vehicle-borne operations and concealed carriage without sacrificing cheek-weld or stability.
- Integrated Solutions: As part of the BDT alliance, the NARP is supported by a comprehensive ecosystem of optics, suppressors, and laser aiming devices from across the Beretta Holding portfolio.
A Strategic Alliance
"The inclusion of the NARP on the National Carbine Framework is a testament to Beretta’s relentless pursuit of innovation," said a spokesperson for GMK Ltd. "By offering one of the only piston-driven carbines with a folding stock capability, we are providing UK officers with a platform that is more portable and adaptable than any other option currently available." Through GMK Ltd, Beretta Defense Technologies continues to provide the UK with a direct link to the global resources of Beretta Holding, ensuring that frontline personnel are equipped with the most advanced tools to ensure national security.”
The Beretta NARP is now one of half a dozen carbines which can now be chosen from the ‘Unsuppressed Police Primary Carbine System’ category of the framework by police forces across the UK.

The NARP looks very hot in that Beretta grey finish. Has a blue-ish tint to it.
Well, that would be another rifle that excepts a 30 round magazine that they will download to 15.
