A Word from Barnes Bullets on Barnes Reserve
“Mona, Utah - August 2025 - Barnes Bullets is proud to introduce Barnes Reserve, an exclusive new ammunition line that builds upon the company’s storied reputation for ballistic innovation. Designed specifically for hard-to-find and specialty hunting cartridges, Barnes Reserve represents the next evolution in Barnes’ pursuit of precision, performance and craftsmanship.
“We’re really excited to launch Barnes Reserve and offer this to our diehard fan base,” said Dale Evans, Marketing Manager at Barnes Bullets. “It was important to us to provide an option for shooters who demand more niche offerings in cartridges that traditionally haven’t received much manufacturer support. The Reserve line also gives us the flexibility to respond quickly to consumer feedback and create new products based on evolving demand. We’re proud to release this premium, handloaded option in perfect time before hunting season to help our consumers have the highest success in the field.””
Final Thoughts
Being a lifetime hunter myself - and priding myself as being a hunter moreso than a gun bro - I can confidently state that Barnes Bullets are a recurring bullet that I have reached for when handloading for special hunts that I go on. An all copper bullet that is well-placed on game will always yield an ethical harvest. It is nice to see that Barnes Bullets is offering some premium ammo for the squirreliest of us who may not have the time to reload. As always, let us know all of your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.

Finally, a feature article about something that's luridly expensive because it honestly deserves to be! Personally if I owned something in an obscure chambering which I intended to actually shoot, I'd invest in the dies to reload for it, but it's good the option of COTS is out there.
Are these rounds loaded to SAAMI standard specifications? I was hoping for a little larger choice of calibers.
i have a custom 7mm STW that I reload for. The most accurate load was with H1000 and a 160gr blue coated Barnes bullet. This was in the mid’90’s. Barnes quit making the bullet and I have long since run out of them. Sad because it was a hammer on elk and deer. I just haven’t found anything that is as good as that was.
