New From Benelli: M4 EXT Adds User-Requested Upgrades
Benelli has expanded its semi-automatic shotgun lineup with the introduction of the M4 EXT, a 922R-compliant version of the M4 that incorporates several user-requested upgrades, including a 7+1 capacity straight from the box. There are also three finishes: H2O, FDE, and Multicam® Black.

The FDE version of the new Benelli M4 EXT shotgun:
The EXT retains the core elements that established the M4’s reputation among military users, law enforcement, and civilian defenders. At its center is the Auto-Regulating Gas-Operated (ARGO) system, a dual short-stroke piston design said to offer consistent cycling across a broad range of loads with limited maintenance requirements.
According to Benelli, the M4 EXT delivers:
- A 7+1 round capacity, finally giving shooters the firepower they expect.
- A 5-position collapsible stock with integrated pistol grip for a precise, locked-in fit.
- An oversized bolt release, optimized for fast engagement, even with gloved hands.
The new configuration is aimed at shooters who prioritize durability and practical enhancements without altering the platform’s established reliability. Benelli positions the M4 EXT as the same proven shotgun, now set up with increased capacity and improved adaptability for demanding use.
“Consumers weren’t asking us to reinvent the legendary M4…they were simply asking us to unleash it. Now we have.” said Bret Maffet, Senior Product Manager, Benelli.
