Here’s Shield Sights’ announcement in full:

Dorset, England, U.K. – Shield Sights, Pioneer of compact red dot optics, is pleased to announce the acquisition of a centralized manufacturing facility. This 26,000 square foot facility will streamline all Shield Sights manufacturing, quality control, packaging, and customer service under one roof.

Shield Sights has experienced steady growth since the inception of micro red dots in 1996. With the more recent worldwide acceptance of red dot sights on handguns, demand for Shield Sights products has exploded. Over the past 5 years Shield Sights has increased manpower by 200% and overall production has increased by 900%. The current trajectory with OEM and government contracts have laid the foundation for the move.

Historically Shield Sights has always been UK based and it will remain a UK based manufacturer. The new facility is 10 miles from the current manufacturing factory in Dorset, in the of southwest England. The new facility will be renovated over the coming 12 months and will lay the foundation for the next chapter in SHIELD’s history.

“I am personally very proud that SHIELD has now found a new home, it’s a sizeable facility with plenty of space to accommodate our growing workforce and increase equipment to enhance our manufacturing and assembly processes. Having the facility within 10 miles of our current factory will limit any disruption for our staff, suppliers, and customers.” said James White, CEO Shield Sights
