Lipsey’s has two new exclusive Smith & Wesson revolver models. These two new Mountain Guns add 10mm and .22LR to the lineup. Keep reading for all the details.

Wheelguns @ TFB:

The Model 617 is chambered in .22LR and built on a stainless steel K-frame. It has a 10-round cylinder and 4 1/8-inch barrel. Joining that model is the Model 610, an N-frame gun chambered in 10mm. It includes three full-moon clips and can fire .40 S&W ammo as well. Like the other Mountain Guns, these new models feature adjustable rear sights and gold bead front sights.

The MSRP for both models is $1199.

From the manufacturer:

“Riding the success of the Smith & Wesson models 629 and 686 Plus Mountain Guns launched at SHOT Show this year, Lipsey’s expanded the line to include two new calibers. The new additions include the Smith & Wesson 610 N-Frame Mountain Gun chambered in 10mm, and the 617 K-Frame Mountain Gun chambered in 22LR. The 610 marks the first time the 10mm has been offered in the Mountain Gun configuration. With fewer than fifty made some years ago, the 10-shot 617 Mountain Gun will now be in full production.
These two new revolvers add to the current line while maintaining the aesthetics and form factor of the initial offerings. It was essential for both Lipsey’s and Smith & Wesson to maintain the synergy of the Mountain Gun line. The new models will continue to feature classic lines, including 1-piece tapered barrels, round butt frames and beveled cylinders, while incorporating modern endurance and materials. These new Lipsey’s Exclusive revolvers also include walnut Bear Hug style grips from Tyler Gun Works, gold bead front sights, and flash chrome hammer and trigger sets. And of course, no internal locks.”

Shame it was not .22 Magnum....then it would be the real deal!

I bought one of the original S&W 610 10mm revolvers, mistakenly thinking it was built on their L frame, but it's actually their N frame. When I open the cylinder, the amount of steel I see between the chambers leaves me wondering why S&W didn't make it a seven-shooter. If given the choice, I would prefer a five-round L frame over this behemoth. When it comes to N frame calibers, I prefer 357, 41, 44, and 45. The 10mm makes no sense.
