Polish-Ukrainian AK Collab at WBP: First Look at the KRUK

We spent a day inside WBP’s factory in Poland to get hands on with a new configuration that blends Polish manufacturing with Ukrainian-designed furniture from KRUK. If you follow AKs, you know high-quality modern furniture for this platform is thin on the ground. KRUK’s approach aims to change that with CNC-machined aluminum, an M-LOK ecosystem, and a stock that finally gives AK shooters real adjustability without looking like an afterthought.
This setup is all about fit and finish. The handguard options run from compact to extended, with top-cover variants that keep accessories solid. Lockup feels tight, and the machining looks like something you would expect to see on premium Western rifles. The stock is the other headline feature. You get proper length-of-pull adjustment and a spring-loaded comb so you can set height for irons, low-mounted red dots, or optics without improvising. Nothing here feels flimsy. It is built for people who actually shoot these rifles and want repeatable positions.
WBP is offering factory builds that use KRUK furniture, and they are already staging a few configurations on their side of the pond. If you want to go custom overseas, there are paths to order the rifle with the specific handguard length and stock you want. For U.S. buyers, the question is not interest, it is logistics. Anyone watching the import space knows the hurdles right now. Between export restrictions and tariffs, moving complete furniture kits or factory-built guns across borders requires more than enthusiasm. There are solutions being explored, but the timeline is not something we will guess at here.
A practical note for the tinkerers: installation is not just for armorers. If you are comfortable swapping AK furniture, the KRUK parts are designed to go on without drama. If you prefer a rifle that shows up finished and dialed, WBP’s factory build options make sense. Either way, this is not the typical budget aluminum you have seen bolted to AKs over the years. The entire package comes across as a purpose-built modernization rather than a parts bin makeover.
Caliber options are in motion, starting with a small batch that reflects what is readily available in Europe, with the usual AK chamberings planned as production scales. That means you can set up a rifle that suits your ammo reality without compromising on the furniture system you actually want.
Bottom line, the KRUK-equipped WBP build looks and feels like a premium AK done the right way. It is modern where it should be and keeps the rifle’s identity intact. If you are in the EU, availability is already happening. If you are in the U.S., keep an eye on this project and on the import situation.
We shot a full segment on the KRUK build at WBP’s factory that takes you through what makes this furniture different.
