Take Control Back from Big Tech with One Weird Trick

Many of us agree that Google search ain’t what it used to be. It often just doesn’t want to show you what you actually want to see. We here at TFB are looking to change that. I’m going to teach you a hidden trick for seeing more TFB content in Google search.

Go to google.com and search for something related to gun news—we recommend simply "gun news" — and then click on the small icon next to Top Stories. Make sure you’re on a personal account—this doesn’t seem to work on organization accounts with custom domains.

A dialog appears asking you to add your preferred sources of news. Click in the “Search by name or website” field and enter thefirearmblog.com. Check the box next to thefirearmblog.com and then click “Reload results.”

That’s it! From now on, Google search will recommend articles from thefirearmblog.com in your Google searches. You can repeat these steps to add more suggested sources to your search, like alloutdoor.com, outdoorhub.com, and thetruthaboutcars.com.

Now you can wield some influence over what Google shows you in search results and get news better tailored to your unique interests.
