Smith & Wesson has expanded its Model 1854 series with the addition of a .357 Magnum chambering. Originally offered in .44 Remington Magnum and later in .45 Colt, this lever-action rifle now comes in a classic caliber favored for versatility and manageable recoil.

Smith & Wesson @ TFB:

The Model 1854 in .357 Magnum is available in two finishes: a modern black polymer and stainless-steel combination, or a more traditional walnut stock with an Armornite® finish for increased corrosion resistance. Both versions feature a 19 ¼-inch threaded barrel, a 10+1 capacity, and Smith & Wesson’s smooth lever-action operation. I’ve never suppressed a .357 Magnum, but that could be fun.

Standard features include a 4 ¾-inch Picatinny rail for optics, an adjustable XS Sights® ghost ring rear sight with a gold bead front sight, and a flat-face trigger. A removable magazine tube allows for safe and easy unloading.

The .357 Magnum Model 1854 adds a new layer of flexibility to Smith & Wesson’s growing line of lever-action rifles.

Some of the features include:

FLAT TRIGGER DESIGN – Allows for consistent trigger finger placement to aid in accuracy when firing.

LARGE LOOP LEVER – Increased surface area to allow for cycling the smooth action with or without gloves.

REMOVABLE MAGAZINE TUBE - Allows for easy and safe unloading of the firearm.

  • 16.3" barrel with 1:14" RH twist rifling.
  • 5/8 x 24 threaded barrel with thread protector.
  • Aluminum M-LOK® handguard w/15 M-LOK slots.
  • Black synthetic stock with textured grip panels.
  • XS Sights® adjustable rear ghost ring sight.
  • HIVIZ® H3 front sight.

The S&W Model 1854 STEALTH HUNTER 357 MAGNUM has a MSRP of $1399 (SKU: 14194).

Love to see a firearm manufacturer chamber a lever gun in 375 JDJ. It would be easier for Marlin,at it uses a 444 Marlin case, necked down to 375. A new barrel and a few internal parts is all it takes.
