Beretta and Langdon Tactical Deliver 92G Elite Combat LTT

Ernest Langdon's fingerprints have been on Beretta 92 pistols in one form or another for years, but the relationship between Langdon Tactical Technology and Beretta USA keeps producing more ambitious factory results. The 92G Elite Combat LTT is the latest expression of that collaboration, and it ships as one of the most comprehensively equipped production pistols in the 9mm full-size category.

The starting point is the 92G action, which uses a decocker-only configuration; no manual safety to manage. On top of that foundation, the Elite Combat LTT layers a complete slate of LTT and Toni System components: an LTT-refined slide and frame, LTT grip panel texturing, a chrome trigger with a DLC-coated sear and hammer, extended takedown and disassembly levers, and a fiber-optic front sight. The Toni System contribution covers both ends of the equation: a single-port compensator threaded onto a 4.9-inch barrel to manage muzzle rise, and a flared magwell to speed up reloads. Three 22-round magazines ship in the box, each fitted with Toni System +4 extensions. That's 22+1 on deck at the start of the string.

The DLC coating on the sear and hammer isn't cosmetic. Diamond-like carbon treatment reduces friction on those surfaces, which is a meaningful refinement in a DA/SA action where the quality of the double-action pull tends to define the shooting experience. LTT's reputation on the 92 platform rests largely on what Langdon does to the action, and the factory version of that work arriving with a DLC-treated trigger group is the detail that separates this from a parts-bin collaboration.

Beretta positions the Elite Combat LTT as suitable for competition and duty alike, which is a fair description for a pistol that runs a compensator and factory 22-round magazines. For anyone who's been building a competition 92 piecemeal, this gun represents an interesting reframe of the cost-benefit math.

The 92 platform has been in continuous service for over four decades, and factory builds like this one keep making the argument that the platform still has room to grow.

The G-model decocker-only setup is a specific choice for DA/SA shooters; does that configuration work for how you carry or compete, or do you prefer retaining the manual safety option?

LTT is very good at what they do and apparently what they like to do is build competition pistols. 92s are quite long and tall enough without adding hardware in both dimensions; but who cares if its use is blazing through split times.

PX4 CC with LTT components remains the pinnacle of their design for practical use, IMO. If they'd only work with Beretta on a new slimmer PX4...

I would love to take my A3G and add the comp and magwell, add in an optics cut slide and I’m cooking with crisco!
