[SHOT 2026] Meprolight Goes Green
Red dot sights are growing more and more popular on pistols these days, but what if you want a green dot instead of red? A lot of people find the green dot offers better daytime visibility while helping you pick up the target more quickly, and also reducing eye strain. Meprolight has adapted its pistol-mounted dot optics, offering the MPO-S, MPO-F, MPO Pro F and MPO Pro S all with green dots.

A familiar package
If you’re not familiar with the MPO-S, MPO-F, MPO Pro-F and MPO Pro-S models, we’ve covered these optics before.
Adam reviewed the MPO Pro-S (with Shield mounting footprint) and MPO Pro-F (with RMR footprint) here. Both of those optics use enclosed emitters—that’s what sets the Pro line apart. The non-Pro models (MPO-S, MPO-F) are similar, but with open emitters. The MPO-S is larger, the MPO-F is smaller, just like their Pro counterparts, due to the size of their footprints. Matt also covered Meprolight’s new offerings at SHOT last year, when much of their current line initially debuted—see here.
All these optics use a CR1632 battery with 20,000-hour life at Setting 5. with shake-to-wake on/off and a user-selectable three-segment reticle with a standard dot, a horseshoe or a bullseye. Meprolight says they’re the only non-Chinese company to offer a selectable reticle in a dot sight (they’re designed in Israel, but manufactured in the Philippines to keep prices down). These optics come with automatic brightness control, but they also offer the user the ability to set the brightness themselves.
Available (almost) immediately
Meprolight says the new green dot sights aren’t months out; they’ll be here around March 1. Note that the new green dot is not a two-in-one deal; the sights don’t offer either red or green, they offer one or the other.
The new optics are not yet listed on Meprolight’s website, but if you keep an eye out here, they are sure to show up soon.
