German Precision Optics Announces GPO Setback Cantilever Mount
German Precision Optics has released the GPO Setback 3" Cantilever Extension Mount, a one-piece aluminum base designed to move riflescopes rearward up to 3 inches to address eye relief constraints on compact tactical optics. The mount is precision-machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and features four hardened steel Allen-head cross-bolts for attachment to Picatinny rails.
The mount is a one-piece design with a narrow ring gap of less than 2.5 inches, engineered specifically for compact scopes with limited mounting surface area. It accommodates 30mm main tube riflescopes and maintains zero return under recoil and field conditions. The finish is hard-anodized matte black.
The $89.99 MSRP positions this as a budget option in a market where premium scope mounts regularly exceed $4-500. For shooters assembling compact scope systems, an extension mount at this price point should offer meaningful cost containment when building out complete optic packages.
GPO SetBack 3” Cantilever Extension Mount specs:
- Adjustment: Up to 3" rearward or forward

- Ring gap: Less than 2.5"

I clicked on this just to mock the price but then I saw the actual price and I'm super pleasantly surprised! More of this, PLEASE! No more rip-offs like MDT and Midwest, selling overpriced aluminum parts that take seconds to make and maybe a minute to QC, all retailed for more than the price of some not-so-bad complete firearms. Its absurd and I'm thrilled to see an affordable (more like reasonably priced) accessory. Now more like this!!
