Arken Optics is branching out from making strictly optics and mounts. The new Target Lock TL3000 is a gun-mounted laser rangefinder with onboard ballistic calculation that will retail for only $600. It also boasts a features list only seen on units costing multiple times that price.

SHOT 2026 @ TFB:

Arken Optics has primarily been a manufacturer of scopes and mounting solutions for those scopes, and the TL3000 represents a shift into electronic accessories. Arken’s sister company DNT makes a wide range of thermal and digital night vision products, some of which incorporate laser rangefinding functions, and this new product takes that LRF function and packages it as a standalone unit for mounting with daytime scopes. Arken will also begin selling a new scope mount with additional accessory mounting points for the TL3000 and other accessories like red dot sights.

The Target Lock 3000 LRF incorporates a green aiming laser for zeroing. It has a port on the back of the unit for a remote switch, and also has Bluetooth for possible integration with other electronic shooting tools. The internal ballistics program can store up to six ballistic profiles for use on various guns or with different loads, and those profiles can be set up in Arken’s ballistic app, which will release along with the TL3000.

Onboard gyroscopes detect when the unit is in horizontal or vertical positions, and the screen automatically adjusts between the two. This happens almost instantaneously and requires no inputs or button pressing to switch. The gyroscope also detects the uphill or downhill angle the unit is pointed at and displays that information, and incorporates it into the ballistic solution for an angle-corrected output. All of these features are powered by a 123-cell battery, which provides enough juice for 5,000 ranging functions or about two hours of use in the constant scan mode.

The TL3000 is expected to be released this summer at a price point of $600. That is not a typo. It will also be available in black and FDE finishes.

This is a big win for them. I'm really glad to see this tech becoming more affordable.

    • Arken is actually a Chinese oem manufacturer so it's a loss for the free world's shooters to be doing product R&D for the CCP and their military suppliers.
