[SHOT 2026] 14 Rounds in the Palm of Your Hand - KelTec’s PR-3AT

KelTec are following up their charger clip-loading PR-5.7 with an expansion to the line, a new pistol chambered in

.380 Auto. Last year at SHOT Show 2025 the PR-5.7 caused a stir, now the PR-3AT is doing the same. The new pistol fills a hole left by the classic P3AT which KelTec discontinued back in 2022.

KelTec says the PR-3AT is designed to be the perfect everyday carry pistol for everyone. At just 9.66oz (273.9g) unloaded and 14.24oz (403.7g) when loaded with 10+1 rounds it certainly provides firepower in a small package.

Like the PR-5.7 the new PR-3AT uses chargers or stripper clips and doesn’t use conventional magazines. Instead you rock in the loaded clip and then push down on a follower that pushes the rounds into the integral internal magazine of the pistol. This means there’s more room in the pistol’s extremely narrow, and short, grip which is less than an inch (24mm) wide at its widest.

KelTec explained to us how the rechambering of the pistol had required internal dimension changes but they felt it was important to finally provide a fitting successor to the P3AT.

The new pistol is available in a range of colour options including black, flat dark earth and OD green. All models come in a standard grip length which allows a magazine capacity of 10+1 rounds but this can be expanded to 13+1 with a grip extension. This takes the height of the pistol from 3.93in to 4.38in.

Just like the PR-5.7 the new pistol uses a rotating barrel lock up and is optics ready out of the box. It will come with two 7-round clips for reloading. The PR-3AT will also have accessories like holsters and belt clips available from launch.

The pistols are available for order now direct from KelTec and they have an MSRP of $399.99.
