POTD: CZ 75 RAF Limited Edition – A Tribute to Czechoslovak Airmen

Welcome back to TFB’s Photo Of The Day! Each day we feature images that capture the beauty, history, and innovation in the world of firearms. Today’s feature is something truly special, marking 80 years since the end of the Second World War.
What you’re looking at is the limited edition CZ 75 RAF, a commemorative pistol honoring the Czechoslovak pilots who served in the British Royal Air Force. Only 56 examples will be produced -14 for each of the four RAF squadrons made up of Czechoslovak volunteers.
The design is steeped in history. From the silhouette of the legendary Supermarine Spitfire to riveted-style cladding, engine-inspired ports, and controls finished in Rainbow Blue, this pistol is as much a work of art as it is a tribute.
If your eye was drawn to the grips, you're not alone, they're shaped after the distinctive wing “humps” of the Spitfire. Embedded in the center of the left grip is a Czechoslovak aviation badge, tying the design back to the brave airmen it honors.
The motto of the RAF Per ardua ad astra ("Through adversity to the stars"), rings true in every detail of this limited-edition CZ 75.

mildly tacky
Chambered in .30 Browning would be a thing.
