CANiK and Taran Butler’s Taran Tactical Innovations have rolled out the TTI Combat SMOKE Edition, a fresh take on their already well-established TTI Combat pistol. This version keeps the core of what made the original a standout while adding a distinct visual edge. The SMOKE Edition sports a smoke-themed Cerakote finish, giving it a clean, recognizable look that screams TTI’s signature style. Under the hood, it’s got a ported bronze PVD-coated barrel to tame recoil and a flat-faced, aluminum 90-degree break trigger for crisp, precise pulls. The HiViz® fiber optic front sight makes picking up targets fast and intuitive. The MSRP is $949.99.

It comes in a few configurations, including a 10-round compliant version for restricted states and an MO3 optic-included option for those who want a red dot out of the box. Like the original, it’s loaded with practical extras: a hard case, custom holster, extra backstraps, optics plates, a tool kit, a flared magwell for quicker reloads, two 18-round magazines (one with a +3 extension), and a TTI/CANiK challenge coin.

Building on the TTI Combat’s 2024 Industry Choice Awards win for Handgun of the Year, the SMOKE Edition is described as bringing a bold aesthetic to a platform already proven in competition and at the range. According to the marketing material, it’s a solid choice for shooters who want performance with a bit of flair.

I have the original and it’s my favorite pistol to shoot. I agree that holster support is weak, but I discovered it is almost identical in size and shape to my Sig P220 so I can swap them in my P220 holster. It may not work with every holster, but it works with my Mitch Rosen leather holster.

I like the aesthetic of the Smoke vs the original, but I don’t need to trade my broken-in model.

It’s my understanding that TTI wanted to distance themselves from the 1st pistol when people were contacting them with complaints of issues. Ive read that some issues were the spring, firing pin channel or maybe something like that.

Doesn't make sense, they are the exact same gun with the exception of color. It's not like it's a different model or a Gen 2, it's the exact same gun with a different color.
