POTD: The Primary Weapon Systems MK114 Alpha Rifle

Okay, let’s begin with the fact that this limited edition rifle is completely sold out. Primary Weapon Systems did a limited run of a hundred MK114 Alpha rifles, and they are all gone at a price of $2,499. According to PWS, the MK114 Alpha was built for the purist, the connoisseur who wants the best of everything PWS is able to engineer. Great opportunity for TFB’s Photo Of The Day, to say the least!

These are the features of the PWS MK114 Alpha rifle, so you know what kind of parts and furniture you’re looking at:

  • Premium Barrel: 14.5” 416R stainless steel, chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 1:7 twist and 5R rifling — built for heavy bullet stability and consistent long-range precision.
  • Rail System Reinvented: Steel plate-reinforced MLOK rail with hardened screws and anti-rotation tabs for unmatched rigidity.
  • Gas Adjustment, Elevated: Our legendary long-stroke piston system gets an ergonomic boost with the forward-mounted 3-position gas adjustment knob—no tool needed.
  • Match-Grade Trigger: Geissele G2S two-stage trigger installed standard for clean, predictable breaks every time.
  • Tuned for Suppression: Ideal balance of weight, recoil control, and adjustability, making it suppressor-ready straight out of the box.
  • Premium Controls: Outfitted with a Radian Raptor charging handle and Radian Talon ambidextrous safety selector for fast, intuitive weapon manipulation from either side.
  • Magpul Furniture: Equipped with Magpul MOE-SL stock, MOE grip, and paired with a Magpul FDE 30-round PMAG—modern ergonomics and rugged reliability to match the Alpha’s premium build.
  • Collectible Finish: The clear anodized aluminum reflects both refinement and raw craftsmanship—no two rifles will look exactly the same.

Each Alpha rifle came individually numbered.

What do you think of limited runs like this? If you ask me, I’m all for it.

Bwahahaha, confusion of badly anodized colors.

“Classy” battle rifles are: Sig 550 in .223 or Sig 751 in .308, and some B&T rifles. Bolt action: Accuracy International.
