In today’s Photo of the Day, we have a number of interesting firearms captured, as they’re used to engage targets on the Lethal Serpent lane during the U.S. Army Europe and Africa European Best Sniper Team Competition. The photograph was taken in November 2025, at the 7th Army Training Command’s Grafenwoehr Training Area in Germany. Above you can see a Spanish sniper team member using his Heckler & Koch G36, with a red dot and magnifier from SIG Sauer.

Lethal Serpent is one of several stages designed to place teams under pressure while assessing accuracy, observation, communication and overall workflow. Each lane introduces its own set of variables, requiring shooters to adapt quickly to changing conditions and target presentations. According to the U.S. Army, the competition forms part of an annual effort to build and maintain readiness through demanding, scenario-driven tasks.

An Estonian sniper team member engages targets. I presume this is the R20L, MARS-H LMT in 7.62mm, with a rifle scope from Schmidt & Bender.

With participants from numerous Allied and Partner nations, the event provides a shared environment for refining tactics and reinforcing interoperability across NATO forces, an essential component of modern multinational training.
