POTD: Derya TM22 Feather - Lightweight .22 LR Platform

Lightweight rimfire rifles are nothing new, but some push the concept further than others. The Derya TM22 Feather is built around weight reduction as a primary goal, using polymer across the receiver, handguard, stock, and magazines to keep the overall package as light as possible.

Compared to aluminum-receiver designs, this approach changes both balance and handling. The round M-LOK compatible handguard keeps the front end slim, while the AR-style stock allows for a more familiar interface and adjustability. The result is a rifle that leans toward ease of use rather than rigidity or weight-driven stability.

Chambered in .22 LR, the platform remains focused on low recoil and manageable shooting characteristics. The 18-inch barrel and simple layout make it suitable for training, recreational shooting, or small game use. A top rail and handguard mounting options allow for optics and accessories without complicating the setup. Personally, I feel that any .22LR just begs for a red dot.

This is a Photo Of The Day for your leisure, but I know a few of you will ask about the weight and the price: 4.85 lbs and $249.00 is the answer, and further details can be found here.

It looks like someone tried to turn a TEC-22 into an M4gery for an Eastern European action movie in the '90s-- I love it.

@Bmstylee I'm not sure that Oleg Volk model in the photos even has arms long enough to put her hands in front of the muzzle to charge the weapon, though.
