An integrally suppressed bullpup precision rifle - now doesn’t that sound like a cool package? Well that’s what Desert Tech have put together, a new handguard for an integrally suppressed version of their SRS series of rifles. The SRS SD kit is a carbon fiber handguard an and a full length Picatinny top rail which can be mounted on late model SRS A2s and SRS M2s.

The SRS SDs on display had 16 inch barrels with full size DTSS Suppressor, 308Win Titaniums, 3/4s tucked into the handguard. Any suppressor under 1.75in diameter should fit in the SD handguard. The SD handguards are currently available in black and flat dark earth.

Here’s some features and specs for the Carbon SD handguard:

  • Full-length hand-guard for the SRS Covert wraps around suppressors
  • Supports thermal and night vision clip-ons forward of the day optic
  • Fits suppressors up to 1.75" OD and as short as 5.6"
  • Allows improved bipod stability with mounting up to 6" forward
  • Carbon fiber construction insulates hands from suppressor heat
  • MLOK slots at every 45°
  • One-piece top rail with 0 MOA taper

The kit includes a top rail with 4 short screws to mount the top rail to the SD handguard, the handguard itself, which reuses your original SRS chassis screws to mount the handguard to the chassis and 2 QD sling mounts, along with 4 mounting screws (2 per sling mount).

The Carbon SD handguard is compatible with the following SRS models from Desert Tech:

  • SRS-M2
  • SRS-A2 (with removable top rail)
  • SRS-A2 Covert (with removable top rail)
  • Fits all SRS barrels, including short Covert barrels

In the future it also looks like you’ll be able to order an SRS Covert SD chassis to mount your barrelled action in, these are likely to retail for $4,298 MSRP.

These SD handguard kits are shipping now in Q1 2026. The Carbon SD handguard alone has an MSRP of $499 on top of purchasing an SRS model if you don’t already have one. Find out more about these at deserttech.com
