MAC-5 & MAC-5K Pistols Now With Franklin Armory Binary Triggers

Military Armament Corp (MAC) has released new versions of their MAC-5 and MAC-5K pistols, now equipped with the Franklin Armory Binary Trigger (BFSIII HK-C1). For those who haven’t tried one, this three-position trigger system allows the firearm to fire one round on the pull and another on the release when set to its third position.
Built with modern manufacturing techniques, the MAC-5 series closely mirrors the design of the original models while remaining affordable for a wide range of shooters. These 9mm pistols are compatible with HK® components and most aftermarket accessories designed for MP5 variants. MAC also plans to launch a line of branded accessories for the series in the near future.
The MAC-5 (pictured above) features an 8.9” barrel, an overall length of 17.9” and weighs 5.5 lbs (unloaded) and the MAC-5K comes with a 5.8” barrel, with an overall length of 13.7” and weighs 4.6lbs (unloaded). According to MAC, with this binary trigger in it, shooters will reduce split times between rounds, allowing for tighter groups.
MAC-5 specs:
- Caliber: 9mm
- Action: Roller Delayed Blowback
- Grip Module: Reinforced Polymer, Glass Filled
- Trigger Pull: 4.5 lb’s
- Finish: Lauer Lacquer Paint over Manganese Phosphate
- Hooded Front Post, Fixed Front Sight

I tried the Franklin triggers at a demonstration earlier this year, and I have to say I’m not a big fan of triggers and guns that shoot when I release them. But shooting a .22LR really fast did put a smile on my face, and I guess a 9mm wouldn’t be too bad either.
The MSRP for the MAC-5 is $2,399.99, and ships with two 30-round magazines, a flash hider, sling, and hard case, and are covered under the MAC limited lifetime warranty.

Their website shows the MSRP at $1,294.99 for both the MAC 5 and the MAC 5K rather than the $2,399.99 the article shows. You should correct that.
