If you’ve got a need, a need to feed your rifle, Bear Creek Arsenal is here to take care of that problem. Bear Creek has just announced they’re starting production of 5.56 rifle ammunition in Sanford, North Carolina.

The details
You might get a bit thrown off by the idea of someone opening up new ammo production in the Palmetto State, as lately, all that business has been moving to Arkansas. But that’s where Bear Creek Arsenal is based, so that’s where the business starts.
They’re starting with the basics: Bear Creek’s first load offered will be a 5.56 NATO 55-grain full metal jacket (FMJ) cartridge.
“Built to the same high standards as Bear Creek Arsenal’s renowned rifles and uppers, this ammunition is meticulously loaded to ensure consistent velocity, reliable cycling, and optimal accuracy shot after shot,” says their PR. “Whether customers are stocking up for the range or refining their skills, Bear Creek Arsenal’s 5.56 NATO 55-grain boattail ammunition is built to perform.”
They say it’s for range training, target shooting and tactical practice—no talk of self-defense, hunting, etc. This is budget-friendly stuff, made for people who are looking to practice their marksmanship without breaking the bank.
"At Bear Creek Arsenal, we are committed to providing high-quality, American-made products at unbeatable value," said Eugene Moore, Bear Creek Arsenal’s founder said at the product launch. "Expanding into ammunition manufacturing was a natural step for us."
Bear Creek Arsenal already lists the new 5.56 ammo on its website for direct orders, with an asking price of $29.50 for a box of 50 rounds. See them listed here. Bear Creek Arsenal also sells ammunition from other manufacturers, so you can stack some pistol rounds or other rifle ammo onto that order if you want to.
Why get into ammo production now? While we are still waiting to see the full effect of the tariffs recently announced by the U.S. government, there is a very real possibility that offshore-manufactured ammo is going to see an increase in price. Maybe Bear Creek Arsenal figures that now is the best time to start offering their own made-in-America option as a result.

The Senile Traitor In Chief's idiotic tariffs are going to wreck this industry regardless of where cartridges are manufactured; the US imports half the copper it uses, and there are no more lead smelters in the US because the corporations doing the smelting decided they'd rather quit the business than follow dirt-basic environmental safety standards.
I am sure Bear Creek Ammo will be better than H&K's ammo line.
