POTD: Conceal, Carry, Captivate: The KelTec P15 Metal in Focus

Photo Of The Day: We take a closer look at these images of the KelTec P15 Metal. This evolution of the original polymer-framed P15 swaps out the lightweight plastic for a robust all-metal lower assembly, cranking up the durability without sacrificing an ounce of concealability. There are some wooden grips as well, for added comfort, one would assume.

At just 19.2 ounces (544 grams in metric) unloaded and a mere 6.6 inches overall (168 mm), it's a featherweight powerhouse chambered in 9mm Luger, packing a flush-fit 15+1 capacity.

Topped with a 4-inch barrel designed for reliable feeding of modern hollow points, and a crisp 1.254mm sight radius for intuitive target acquisition, this striker-fired pistol is said to be built for those who demand both performance and panache.

MSRP clocks in at $820.

I respect Kel Tec for always thinking out of the box and trying new things. That being said, a Blue Label Glock 19 is $398, MOS for $477. Even at the same price, who in their right mind would buy a Kel Tec over a Glock?

Screw together construction and overpriced, and it's a KelTec = Hard Pass. S&W will fix the design and make a better version, oh wait they already have.
