Lyman is now shipping two new bench-mounted priming systems. Both offer adjustable priming depth to place the primer at the exact depth you want. Keep reading for all the details.

The Accu-Prime Manual Bench Primer mounts to the reloading bench and is made for precision priming. The priming ram is adjustable for depth, and the camming handle allows the right amount of pressure each time. Lyman’s design for the priming cup also acts as a stop to prevent overinsertion. The focus is on accuracy with this device, and each primer is manually placed on the ram before priming. The Accu-Prime Manual Bench Primer retails for $69.95.

Stepping up for a higher volume output is the Accu-Prime Auto Load. It adds a primer feed tube behind the priming unit to place fresh primers each pass. The Auto Load retails for $174.95 and is available for purchase on the Lyman website.

From the manufacturer:

Lyman’s Accu-Prime™ Auto Load tool, one of the fastest and most accurate priming tools available! What makes this tool so accurate is our patented adjustable priming punch. Other priming tools use the top surface of the rim to hold the case during priming, and then either use “feel” for primer depth, or a tool stop of some sort. However, even tools with a stop are susceptible to rim thickness variations, which will then transfer these variations to primer seating depth. Our patented adjustable priming punch is unique in that it stops against the bottom surface of the cartridge case. In this manner, you can control the exact amount of primer depth below the bottom surface of the case.
