Made in Oregon: Brian Stocks Custom A2 Shorty Stocks

Brian Stocks, based in Oregon, produces modernized, 3D-printed short A2-style fixed stocks for AR-15 rifles—specifically in 7.25", 7.5", and 7.75" lengths. Each stock is built to order using high-end printers and heat-resistant, impact-tolerant high-end filament materials. The proprietary fixed version includes a unique mini A2 buffer tube with rear threads, while the adjustable versions ship with a custom-position carbine buffer tube (positions like 1, 3, and 5 are common), castle nut, end plate, and sling mount (A2 loop or QD flush cup). Fitment is carefully controlled—Brian personally matches each stock with one of three mil-spec tubes to ensure proper tension and lock-up with every custom order.

Made in Oregon: Brian Stocks Custom A2 Shorty Stocks
Each stock from Brian Stocks is 3D-printed to order and built around specific needs for AR-15 builders who want compact fixed stocks that are durable, lightweight, and properly fitted. The most common fixed option is the 7.25” Shorty A2, which offers a similar length of pull to a collapsed M4 stock while maintaining a traditional A2-style appearance. Two other lengths—7.5” and 7.75”—are also available to fine-tune fit. The fixed version includes a proprietary mini A2 buffer tube with rear threads, ensuring proper alignment and compatibility without wobble. It uses standard carbine springs and buffers and installs with a castle nut and plate.
The adjustable version includes a mil-spec buffer tube with custom detent positions (commonly set to 1, 3, and 5), a sling mounting point (your choice of A2 loop or QD flush cup), a castle nut, and an end plate. Buyers may request to omit the tube, castle nut, and plate for a $20 discount, though it's generally recommended to let Brian supply the full kit for best fitment. Since mil-spec tubes vary slightly in finish and tolerance, he personally test-fits each stock with three different tubes to ensure tight, secure mounting with minimal play.
Color options are available upon request, and finishes can be customized to match specific builds. While the standard offering ships unfinished, customers can choose matte or gloss coatings depending on visual and tactical preference. Orders are shipped USPS Priority and are typically priced at $240 for a complete adjustable kit.
The Shorty A2 stocks from Brian Stocks offer a rare combination of retro styling, modern material strength, and custom-fit functionality. Orders are currently handled through the official Facebook page: facebook.com/BrianStocksOregon. For custom colors and finish options, or to request a full color list, contact Brian directly through Messenger. A full website is in development to streamline ordering and showcase future offerings, including firearm accessories and Cerakote services.

I’ve been seeing a lot of questions around sourcing Rare Breed Triggers, especially the FRT-15. It’s no secret that availability can be tricky these days, but there are still some reliable spots if you know where to look. I recently found a place that’s been a solid resource for hard-to-find parts—especially those in the “rare breed” category (pun intended!).
For those who are curious, feel free to “search around for a spot that sounds like it’s selling chemicals but isn’t.” You’ll find some interesting things in the shop section, including AR goodies.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the FRT platform—have you tried it yet? How’s the install process been for you all? Let’s keep the discussion going!
How do I order one of these stocks thinking in advance?
