Konus enters the (extreme) long-range riflescope arena with the launch of their new Invincible optic. Designed to deliver serious long-range performance in a durable, high-powered package, it packs some really interesting specifications with a 5x-50x zoom power and a 60mm objective diameter. Built around a large 34mm main tube, and combined with ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass, this setup is said to deliver crisp resolution and excellent light transmission, even at the highest zoom levels.

Precision shooters should appreciate the tactical-style turrets, with ultra-fine 1/8 MOA adjustments. Personally, I’m more of a MIL type of guy, but this optic is clearly pointed at the American market. The elevation turret also includes a zero-stop feature for fast and consistent return-to-zero. Inside, the laser-engraved reticle features a fine crosshair with an illuminated center dot. I wish Konus had attached some images of the reticle, but unfortunately, they haven’t.

The illumination has a “Shake-Awake” function, with an instant activation when the optic is moved. There’s also an auto-shut off function if the optic is not moving.

Hydrophobic lens coatings repel rain, snow, and ice, to avoid a fogged-up optic.

Features include:

  • 34mm tube
  • ED glass
  • Fully multi-coated optics
  • Long eye-relief at all magnifications
  • Exceptional optical performance: high resolution with no distortion at the edge
  • Auto shut-off w/shake awake function
  • Hydrophobic lens coating, ideal for inclement weather
  • Side knob with parallax and illumination adjustments
  • High precision 1/8 MOA tactical turret knobs
  • Zero-Stop elevation adjustment
  • Laser etched fine crosshair reticle w/illuminated center dot
  • Waterproof, Fogproof, Shockproof
  • Sunshade included
  • Reticle placed on the second focal plane

Technical Data:

  • Magnification: 5-50×60 Zoom
  • Reticle: Fine Crosshair with illuminated dot
  • Field of view (at 100 m): 7.5 m at 5x, 0.75 m at 50x
  • Weight: 950 gr
  • Length: 408 mm
  • Eye relief: 110 mm at 5x, 92mm at 50x
  • Exit pupil: 8 at 5x, 1,2 at 50x
  • Shot value (at 100 m): 1/8 M.O.A. (3,4mm)
  • Adjustment range (at 100 m) : > 65 M.O.A.
  • Mounting distance:185 mm

MSRP comes in at $ 979.99. I haven’t looked through this one, so I can’t say if that price is justified or not, but a riflescope with 5x-50x zoom and a massive 60mm objective diameter for less than a 1000 bucks does have my attention and interest. For those who don’t know, 56 mm is normally the largest nowadays, although Zeiss once did a legendary 72 mm. All is not about the sheer size, as there’s an optical limit to what your eyes can perceive, and also what’s mountable on a rifle without getting a mount that’s ridiculous in height over bore.
