POTD: AC-Unity Alfa AC-SMG9 – Bosnia’s Modular 9mm SMG
Welcome back to TFB’s Photo Of The Day, where we spotlight firearms of all kinds. Today, we turn our focus to the Alfa AC-SMG9, a submachine gun developed by AC-Unity in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Engineered for modern urban operations, the Alfa AC-SMG9 is chambered in 9×19mm and operates on a simple blowback system. Its design emphasizes modularity, featuring compatibility with M16/M4 components, ambidextrous fire selectors, and options for 7.5" or 10.5" barrels.
The upper receiver is crafted from 7075-T6 aluminum alloy, while the lower receiver is available in either aluminum or high-resistance polymer, catering to diverse operational needs.
The retractable polymer buttstock offers five adjustable positions and includes three interchangeable rubber backplates, enhancing user comfort and adaptability. The handguard utilizes an M-LOK system, allowing for the attachment of various accessories without adding unnecessary weight.
Standard equipment includes flip-up front and rear sights, two 30-round magazines, a cleaning kit, a tactical sling, and a dedicated range bag.
