Steiner Optics MPS Rotary Switch: A Rugged Red Dot for Shotguns
Steiner Optics has introduced the MPS Rotary Switch, a compact enclosed red dot sight purpose-built for shotgun competition and dynamic sporting use. Based on the proven MPS platform, this new version adds a mechanical rotary switch with clearly defined tactile positions and three brightness settings (0–3). The simplified control layout is designed for fast adjustments on the clock, particularly in changing light conditions common to practical shotgun stages.
The optic features a Circle Dot reticle consisting of a 30 MOA ring, 3 MOA central red dot, and 1.5 MOA reference lines. The layout is intended to balance speed and precision, allowing rapid target acquisition at short to medium distances while still offering a defined aiming point for tighter shots. True 1x magnification supports both-eyes-open shooting, maintaining situational awareness during transitions.
Adjustments are 1 MOA per click for repeatable zeroing, and the unit weighs just 65 grams. Measuring 46 x 38 x 31 mm, the sight remains compact enough to integrate cleanly with common shotgun platforms. The nitrogen-filled housing is fogproof and rated waterproof to 10 meters.
While Steiner’s design heritage is rooted in military and law enforcement optics, the MPS Rotary Switch is clearly aimed at civilian sport shooters who want a rugged, enclosed emitter red dot with straightforward controls and competition-ready performance.
Key features:
- CIRCLE DOT RETICLE - (30 MOA Circle + 3 MOA Dot)
- ROTARY SWITCH WITH 3 BRIGHTNESS LEVELS
- COMPACT & RUGGED DESIGN (65 g, 46 x 38 x 31 mm)
- WATERPROOF TO 10 M
- PRECISE ADJUSTMENT: 1 MOA PER CLICK
“The MPS Rotary Switch was developed with one clear objective: to provide sport shooters with an extremely rugged, precise, and easy-to-use optic. Our technical expertise forms the foundation—but the primary focus is unmistakably on performance in civilian competitive shooting,” says the Product Management from STEINER-Optik.
This new sight will be shown at EnforceTac in Nuremberg, 23-25 February, and can be found here: https://www.steiner.de/en/
With the IPSC Shotgun World Shoot later this year (Greece), this new model is ready for the action.
