Inner workings of the Duty trigger

There are several models of Duty triggers. Users can choose either flat or curved trigger shoes. And while the pull weight of each trigger is fixed and not user-adjustable, variants with 3.5-pound and 5.5-pound pull weights are available.

Two-stage, 3.5-pound AR-9 trigger

The Duty line is not limited to the AR-15 and is also available in AR-10 and AR-9 models. Those versions are only sold with a 3.5-pound pull weight, but straight and flat triggers are both available. All models are in stock at TriggerTech as of the time of writing with a retail price of $129.99 for AR-15 versions and $139.99 for AR-9 and AR-10 models.

From the manufacturer:

The design of our new Duty Line was driven by feedback from military and law enforcement operators. They wanted our patented Zero Creep Technology and proven stainless steel internals, but with a more tactile feel. To achieve this, we more than doubled the pull weight and length of the first stage. And after the zero creep break we engineered a much more forceful reset. The result? A totally different feel that offers more certainty with every shot. The Duty Line is TriggerTechs interpretation of what Mil-Spec should be.

The AR Duty line is the latest in TriggerTech triggers that offers robust reliability without compromising performance. Inspired by active MIL / LE Operators these triggers offer a longer take up (on two-stages) and a more forceful reset.

I don't know about long takeups, and consequently the need for a "forceful" reset. The Rise Armaments trigger in my AR10 is a drop in single stage that has almost imperceptible take up, 3lb trigger, and zero overtravel. It is a point and click interface that works perfectly for me. But each to his own. Then again, I like how TriggerTech did the screws to tighten the case against the pins--much easier than digging around blind to find them under the hammer etc.

I’ve got the old “AR Combat Fixed” Triggertech trigger in a PCC. Its a very good trigger and lends itself well to speed. The only downside is the goofy way the pins are retained, though it hasn’t been a problem for me.
