EAA Brings The BLK Bolt-Action In Yer Favorite Deer Calibers
The new BLK bolt-action from European American Armory (EAA) is kinda like the old “You want a Remington 700? We have a Remington 700 at home” joke. But it does offer American hunters a 700-pattern action at an affordable price, in your favorite deer caliber—as long as your favorite deer caliber is .308 or .30-06 (and there’s a good chance that it is).
EAA’s imports @ TFB:
The BLK bolt-action that EAA is bringing into the U.S. market is, of course, from Turkey, where the nationally supported firearms industry is rapidly capturing value-oriented customers around the world (more on that here). Specifically, it’s built by Balikli (which, to be clear, is not the same brand as Baikal, the Russian company that EAA used to import into the U.S.; Baikal’s rugged firearms have not been available as new imports for years now).
Although Balikli isn’t a familiar name for many American hunters, the rifle has features that hunters want. First off, although this is not a Remington 700, building the action along that pattern means many parts and accessories should fit. Although many of the budget guns brought in from Europe are low on niceties, the BLK has a recoil pad, checkering on the pistol grip and forend, a pre-installed Picatinny rail for optics mounting, and a threaded muzzle for attaching a suppressor or other device. The 20-inch barrel is fluted for weight reduction. The stock is made of Turkish walnut, and a five-round detachable box mag comes standard. The trigger is adjustable as well.
In other words, everything you need, and the price is less than a similar rifle from an American manufacturer. MSRP from EAA is $669 for 2026.
"The BLK Bolt Action is exactly the kind of rifle today's hunters are looking for, with classic lines, useful upgrades, dependable action, and a price point that makes sense," said Chase Duffey, EAA’s big boss of sales. "Whether chambered in .308 or .30-06, the BLK delivers the value and capability customers expect from EAA."
Obviously, they can chamber this rifle in other short-action and long-action calibers, but at this point, we have seen no indication of .243, .270 or other versions of the rifle coming to the U.S. But if you want something like that, keep an eye on EAA’s website for details of new chamberings. A wander around the halls of the SHOT Show will tell you the Turkish manufacturers are happy to build you whatever you want, as long as you’ve got the green to make the scene.
