Henry's Award-Winning LASR Expands to .450 Bushmaster

Henry Repeating Arms won Guns & Ammo's 2025 Rifle of the Year with the H23 Lever Action Supreme Rifle (LASR), a ground-up reimagining of the lever-action platform built around a patented quad-bar linkage, a multi-lug rotating bolt face, and a detachable box magazine. The LASR launched in .223 Rem/5.56 NATO and .300 Blackout, chamberings that lean toward recreational shooting and suppressor duty. The platform is now expanding to where its hunting credentials get a serious upgrade: Henry is adding .450 Bushmaster to the lineup, and it's shipping now.

The .450 Bushmaster chambering is a direct answer to the straight-wall cartridge regulations across the Midwest. Iowa, Ohio, Indiana, and parts of Michigan all restrict rifle hunting to straight-walled cartridges, and .450 Bushmaster is one of the most capable options in that category for deer, bear, and hogs at typical hunting distances. Putting it inside the LASR's action means a hunter in those states gets the smooth cycling of the quad-bar linkage, a 10-round DuraMag Stainless Steel detachable magazine that's compatible with MSR-style magazines for easy resupply, and a threaded 18-inch free-floated barrel at 5/8x24 for suppressor use. The whole package weighs in at 6.4 pounds.

The rifle carries over every feature from the existing platform: genuine American walnut stock with diamond checkering, the match-grade trigger adjustable within a one-pound range using the included hex key, the patent-pending fully adjustable trapezoidal rear sight, and an internal hammer design that seals the action when closed.

The receiver is drilled and tapped for optics using a Weaver 63B base, which matters for a big-bore hunting application where most serious hunters will run glass.

At $1,360 MSRP, the .450 Bushmaster variant matches the pricing of both existing chamberings. For hunters who've been waiting on the LASR to make sense as a hunting tool in regulated states, the wait is over.

With MSR magazine compatibility and a threaded barrel, the LASR .450 Bushmaster bridges old-school lever-action feel and modern features. Do you think that's the right direction for the platform?

Similar ballistics to .45-70 but from a box mag with double the capacity. Plus the option of using 395 gr sub sonic…. Yes 🙌🏻
