Wheelgun Wednesday: Quest Firearms MC6 - Modern Modular Pepperbox

The pepperbox is an early type of wheelgun that looks like a barrel-less revolver with a much longer cylinder because its cylinder is basically a set of barrels as opposed to the revolver design where there is a single barrel and the cylinder is a set of chambers. Over the years, this type of wheelgun has almost completely been replaced by revolvers. Almost … earlier we took a look at a 410 Bore 18-shot modern pepperbox designed by the Swiss company KUGS. In this edition of TFB’s Wheelgun Wednesday, we have another attempt to revive the pepperbox - the Quest Firearms MC6.

Wheelgun Wednesday at TFB:

The Quest Firearms MC6 has a modular cylinder design. The barrels, or as the company calls them CBs (Cylinder Barrels), can be removed from the cylinder and replaced with different caliber barrels. The company offers Cylinder Barrels chambered in a variety of pistol, rifle and shotgun cartridges.

One of the advantages of the pepperbox design over revolvers is that technically you can have each barrel in a different caliber. Well, Quest Firearms actually offers such a multi-chambering option for the MC6 (see the top image of this article). This feature should be appealing to the survival/prepping crowd allowing them to shoot up to six different cartridges from a single firearm thus increasing the chances of finding ammunition to feed the gun or using the same firearm for different purposes.

This is all we know about the Quest Firearms MC6 at the time of writing. We’ll keep an eye on this project and make sure to let our readers know about its progress and availability. Meanwhile, let us know in the comments section what you think about this modern modular pepperbox. In what applications could a gat like this shine?
