The New Webley & Scott Royal .32 ACP DA/SA Pistol

The India division of Webley & Scott introduced the new Royal chambered in .32 ACP pistol. This new metal-frame, polymer-gripped, DA/SA pistol is intended primarily to serve as a CCW-friendly complement to the steadily growing Webley semi-auto pistol lineup, which already includes their .45 ACP Bull and Hawk models, as well as the .32 ACP Fox model that the new Royal will join.

The new Royal pistol will be manufactured under the Webley name in partnership with Sial Manufacturers Pvt. LTC., which is located in Sandila, Uttar Pradesh, less than 100 miles from the southwestern border of Nepal. While India does have some of the strictest gun control laws in the world, with gun licenses taking months or even years to acquire, civilian firearms ownership is still possible but heavily regulated, and still rare - concealed carry is even less common. With that being said, India's laws do permit the ownership of firearms for reasons other than security or law enforcement (i.e. self self-defense & sport shooting/target practice), but are typically limited to “low-power” handguns, which is why.32 ACP is such a common cartridge there.
While I would certainly be interested to shoot some of Webley’s India-produced guns out of morbid curiosity, these firearms, unfortunately, are only listed as being available in India. There is currently no listing of a price on the gun itself or any spare magazines potential customers might want to purchase, so we’ll be left to speculate how these will fare in the Indian firearms market until YouTubers over there start reviewing them on their channels.

Fascinating! Anything that helps democratize violence in the world's largest democracy is a good thing, and I'd trust something made by the Indian branch of Webley & Scott over quite a lot of local manufacturers; any corporation that has to report to a foreign home office has an extra layer of insulation from the kind of corruption that puts janky claptrap rifles in the hands of India's actual professional soldiers. Hopefully y'all can wrangle a range report from someone on the subcontinent who has access to one.
