Founded in post-war Ratzeburg by locksmith Willi Korth, the company built its reputation on revolvers that required months to complete, each machined from billet steel by hand with uncompromising attention to detail. Today’s Photo of the Day highlights a rare, matched-number commemorative set from Smith & Wesson that pairs the Model 1854 lever-action rifle with the Model 29 revolver, both chambered in .44 Magnum. Limited to just 100 sets, this example is number 059 and stands out with engraving accented by 22-karat gold inlay, completed by Baron Engraving.

If you love hog hunting and you love lever-action rifles, then Custom & Collectible Firearms has a new custom job on the market that might tickle your fancy … although it appears to be far, far too nice to actually drag around the woods hog hunting. Over the last few months, Smith & Wesson has dropped a number of modern variants of their classic line, with the Model 29, Model 19 as well as the Model 10 all having variants released as a part of their classic line. One of the newest additions to the classic line is the Mountain Gun variant, which brings a modern take on the classic wheelgun era.
