POTD: Clint's Chosen Caliber Lives On - 1981 Smith & Wesson Model 29-2
Smith & Wesson 1981 Model 29-2, 6” .44 Magnum with a pinned barrel and recessed cylinder. This revolver has been immortalized by Clint Eastwood's 1971 turn as Harry Callahan, and I’m sure you can hear some of his most famous quotes ringing in your head.
Paired here with a Buck Knives 110 Slim Heritage Elite dressed in MagnaCut steel, and complemented by Saddleback Leather's hand-burnished pistol wrap, we have an ensemble that speaks to a very purposeful tradition for a lot of hunters and gun owners - and it’s perfect for TFB’s Photo Of The Day series.
Maker Bullets' 275-grain solid copper P-REX projectiles seated in Starline Brass cases complete the composition. I’m trying to comprehend that’s almost 2.5 the bullet weight of some of my 9x19mm, not mentioning the potential increase in velocity. That’s a lot of stopping power, the kind of caliber that makes your mind anticipate the recoil long before it happens. Don’t dip the barrel!

I've shot .44 Mags since 1976 & it's always been my favorite revolver calibre! I have the 6" & 8 3/8" model 29-2's & really enjoy them. I frequently hunt (and, kill) deer w/the longer one. My Ruger SBH is stronger but the S&W triggers are pure SWEETNESS!!!

I pretty much agree with these beauties, but on the barrel I'd have to have
engraved, "WELL PUNK..."😠
