The elimination of the $200 tax stamp for acquiring suppressors significantly boosted this segment of the industry and made the SHOT Show 2026 extremely suppressor-centric. The number of companies getting into silencer manufacturing and the amount of suppressors and related products released at SHOT is unprecedented. One lesser-known company that specializes in designing and manufacturing silencers is North Country Armory. At SHOT 2026, we had a chance to take a look at their latest product, the Reduced Heat Signature (RHS) suppressor.

The North Country Armory Reduced Heat Signature suppressor is made of titanium and has a monolithic core with a slot and pocket design. The design and the material of the core allow keeping the overall weight of the can down while maximizing the strength and longevity. The company also notes that in case of a baffle strike, the mono core design is less likely to cause a catastrophic failure and its internal geometry reduces back pressure. The mono core is screwed into a fluted sleeve and that assembly is covered by the outer tube.

The outer tube (blue), fluted sleeve (yellow) and mono core (red).

As the name of this suppressor model implies, it is designed to reduce the heat signature. According to North Country Armory:

“The internal core design reduces external heat buildup without relying on specialized coatings, resulting in a noticeably lower heat signature during firing. This helps improve thermal optic performance and reduces scope mirage during extended shooting sessions. In many cases, the suppressor remains cool enough to handle after multiple shots with larger cartridges.”

The North Country Armory RHS has an external diameter of 1.75”. This suppressor can be ordered in one of the following direct thread options: 1/2x28, 9/16x24, 5/8x24, 3/4x20 and 3/4x24. There are six submodels of the RHS suppressor line rated for different calibers and differing in overall length and weight:
