POTD: Frankonia Pro Tuning Taipan Pistols
Today’s Photo of the Day showcases a selection of Pro Tuning Taipan pistols, all developed in-house by the Frankonia Tuning Center in Germany. Each variant is built with a clear focus on precision shooting. While the images highlight a range of different configurations and visual styles, every model shares the same foundation, drawing from proven CZ-based designs.
Configured as a single-action-only pistol, the Taipan is tailored for controlled, deliberate fire rather than general-purpose use. The slide and frame are hand-fitted, with attention given to consistency and mechanical alignment.
The platform is based on proven CZ-pattern geometry, combined with tuned internal components and extensive testing during development.
The pistol features a 6-inch barrel and an extended sight radius, paired with an LPA TRT rear sight system. The trigger is adjustable and set within a relatively light pull range, complemented by an aluminum trigger shoe and matched hammer. Ergonomics are addressed through a slim grip profile and ambidextrous controls, including a reversible magazine release.
A rail integrated into the dust cover allows the addition of weights, supporting balance tuning for competition use. The package includes three 19-round magazines, completing a setup clearly oriented toward static precision disciplines.
You can see the pricing in Euros in some images, so expect a starting price of about €2,000.00 in Europe, which can easily double depending on your preferences.

These are SP-01 frames with Tacsport slides and barrels fitted with accu-bushings, all CZ. You can get the same thing, also hand-fitted, from CZ Custom for less.
Look how they massacred my boys.
