[SHOT 2025] Geissele BOLT ACTION And More
Geissele is known for AR platform parts and guns, but they are getting into bolt actions as well. The new King Hunter rifle in 7mm Backcountry is their first entry in that space. But that's not the only new gun they showed off this year!

King Hunter
The new King Hunter is a Remington 700 long action footprint, but it's much more than just another 700 clone. It features upgrades like a floating bolt head, interchangeable bolt handles, and a roller-guided firing pin. It sits in a Manners carbon fiber stock for great rigidity and ergonomics and feeds from AICS-pattern magazines. It has a 20-inch barrel and weighs eight pounds. The King Hunter retails for $3,800 and should be available for purchase in early Q2 2025.
GFW
Geissele's other new firearm is on the other end of the spectrum. The GFW is an AR with an 8-inch barrel and reduced-length buffer and bolt system that allow for a shorter stock. The stock collapses in two stages nested inside one another, which makes for a very small overall size. There is also an arm brace version for those who don’t want to deal with tax stamps. It comes in both 5.56 and 300 Blackout. Prices start at $2,800 and go up for DDC and Luna Black finishes. There was no specific ETA on availability.
From the manufacturer:
The King Hunter is built to optimize the performance of the 7mm BackCountry cartridge. With the high-pressure round being able to deliver over twice the energy of 30-06 at 1K yards, we wanted to build a platform that can get every bit of performance out of it.
The long action bolt assembly features a floating bolt head for improved lug engagement and a roller guided firing pin, to ensure the most consistent ignition possible. The bolt assembly features our Nanoweapon coating, which makes the action super smooth and incredibly corrosion resistant. The nitride receiver sits in a Manners Long Range Hunter (LRH) OEM’d carbon fiber stock, which balances ergonomics and weight reduction, with the rifle weighing in at just over 8 lbs.
