POTD: High Polish Copper Penny - The Colt 1911 Heirloom 45 ACP
Photo Of The Day, and we get a look at a very interesting surface finish. Custom and Collectable Firearms produces the Colt 1911 Heirloom as a limited edition series of 300 sequentially numbered pieces. The firearm has a high-polish Copper Penny finish and black grips. It’s pretty clear from the images that this is not your average surface finish, but something completely different. Each piece is engraved on the back of the slide with its sequential number from the series.
Each Colt 1911 Heirloom is packaged in a black box with a Custom & Collectable logo in gold foil on top, a Custom & Collectable Firearms challenge coin, and a certificate of authenticity signed by the owner. The Colt 1911 Heirloom is available through Orion Wholesale, with a price of $2,999.99.

These guys are a joke. Take a base Colt, cover it in laser engraving, and charge as much for it as a Wilson/Baer/Ed Brown/Nighthawk...really?
