The SAS-14 builds on the success of the A-TM folding stock, which hearkens back to the original and hard-to-find Ruger folder. That stock has a lot of nostalgia factor but is a creature of an earlier era. The SAS-14 adds the kinds of features found on more recent developments.
The folding stock is the SAS-K model with adjustable cheek rest height and length of pull. There are QD sling receptacles and MLOK slots for adding accessories. The SAS-14 is compatible with the full range of Hannibal handguards for optics mounting. The SAS-14 stock is compatible with the full range of Mini-14 and Mini-30 models and retails for $650. Sounds like it's beating a "dead Mini!" Having my first AR15 around 1968 I was never ga-ga over the Mini-14 and never owned one but I thought it was better in a stock. The "SAS" (cute name) has a stock that I would rather have on the left side and a grip that is WAY to angled. It needs a mount at the rear which I'm sure there's base for. The rest of it doesn't impress me and I didn't see how heavy it all is. In addition I don't think the customer wouldn't get that custom barrel. For my money the rifle's better in it's stock.
