POTD: Tsukamaki Wrapped Pistol

Have you ever seen a pistol that has a grip wrapped like a Katana? I haven’t either. After a few glasses of Sake, I took it upon myself to go full Weeb and try it out.
The above pistol is a Springfield Prodigy hastily wrapped by an amateur with some Amazon-grade tsuka-ito (cord), over “handleitgrips” sandpaper grips. Tsukamaki is the art of wrapping the handle, and obviously takes quite a bit of practice to master.
Benefits may include a small palm swell, sweat absorbance, finger tip pad grooves and a soft, supple grip for Manga-reading hands.
Cons include the risk it will fall apart in your hands, some odd looks at the range, and the possibility it will pick up dirt and sand.
I’ll leave it to the TFB readers. Is this the next step in handgun wrapping technology, or an idea that should have stayed in the draft folder?

Great. Now once our favorite Vietnamese Ronin role playing as a Japanese samurai gets wind of this... he's bound to write a book about it.
"Sure, it defeats one of the mechanical safety devices, but it's supaa kakkoi, desu ne?"
