Today’s Photo of the Day features a limited-edition Ruger SR1911 Western Edition from Sturm, Ruger & Co., produced in a run of just 1,000 pistols. The standout feature is the laser‑engraved slide depicting a mounted rider set against an American flag backdrop, paired with custom wood grip panels featuring matching scrollwork.

Chambered in .45 ACP, the pistol uses a lightweight aluminum frame and a 5‑inch barrel, keeping overall weight to about 31 ounces. The design retains the traditional 1911 fire‑control system while incorporating modern touches such as a skeletonized trigger and hammer, titanium firing pin, and an oversized beavertail grip safety. Novak 3‑dot sights provide the sighting system, and the pistol feeds from standard 8‑round magazines.

Ruger’s SR1911 line is known for CNC‑machined components and compatibility with many standard 1911 parts. This Western‑themed edition adds a decorative twist to the platform while maintaining the core mechanical layout of the classic .45 Auto sidearm.

The MSRP is $1,899. If only 1,000 exist, does that make it more interesting to you?

No. It's 100% pure fudd-grade garbage. A single stack, .45 ACP with such decorative engravings it serves only as a safe queen? Hard frickin' pass.
