Rossi has announced a couple new firearms that are a continuation, or rather, an extension of a firearm that they have had for quite some time. Their newest offering is the RS22 Pistol in .22 Long Rifle that you can run with a brace or without depending on what your end-game might be for the platform.

Rossi @ TFB:

NEW Rossi RS22 Pistol in .22 Long Rifle

With the announcement of the new Rossi RS22 Pistol chambered for .22 Long Rifle, you have a couple options to pick from depending on how you may want to deploy this new firearm. The Rossi RS22 Pistol with a Strike Industries FSA Brace or without are your two choices with MSRPs of $398.99 or $189.99, respectively.

This pistol version is similar to its rifle counterpart in the action and operation, but there is also a lot new with the short, threaded barrel, accessory rail, Picatinny rail, and other attributes that are mentioned below:

  • Rear-Facing Picatinny Rail - Designed for convenient attachment of a stabilizing brace, including an optional Strike Industries FSA Brace.
  • 6” Threaded Barrel - Suppressor-ready with a 1/2x28 threaded barrel, compatible with suppressors and aftermarket muzzle devices.
  • Aluminum Picatinny Rail - Secure mounting platform for optics, red dots, or iron sights.
  • 10-Round Magazine - Ships with a 10-round magazine and is compatible with all RS22 rifle magazines.
  • Front Accessory Rail - Built-in Picatinny rail for lights, laser sights, or light/laser combinations.
  • AR-Style Pistol Grip - Enhanced ergonomics and control for a familiar, modern feel.
  • Proven RS22 Action - Hammer-fired, cross-bolt safety, matte black finish.

A Word from Rossi on the New RS22 Pistol

“Bainbridge, Georgia - September, 2025 - Rossi expands its popular RS22 platform with the launch of the all-new RS22 Pistol—bringing trusted rimfire performance into a compact, suppressor-ready design with modern ergonomics and customization options.
The RS22 Pistol builds on the reputation of the proven RS22 rifle and reimagines it as a lightweight, compact pistol. Perfect for range days, small-game pursuits, or rimfire training, the RS22 Pistol delivers the same reliability and value Rossi shooters expect, now with features that maximize adaptability and control.”

Final Thoughts

For something that’s likely smaller than the footprint of the laptop that I’m delivering you this news on, the Rossi RS22 Pistol is an intriguing firearm. The Strike Industries FSA Brace does bump the price quite a bit, but quality braces also aren’t cheap.

As always, let us know all of your thoughts about this new braced pistol from Rossi in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.

Would love to add one to my collection. Unfortunately I live in the Draconian State of NY-istan. A semi-automatic pistol with a threaded barrel is illegal. I often wonder why manufacturers produce interesting firearms that are illegal in large markets of our country. If they start making them without threaded barrels I will be first in line.
