New Leupold Gen 2 SX-4 Pro Guide HD and SX-2 Alpine HD Spotting Scopes
Leupold & Stevens has introduced updated versions of two of its spotting scope lines: the SX-4 Pro Guide HD Gen 2 and the SX-2 Alpine HD Gen 2. The SX-4 Pro Guide HD Gen 2 features Leupold’s Elite Optical System, designed to cut down glare and provide clear views in challenging lighting, such as the harsh glare of early morning glassing. The more budget-friendly SX-2 Alpine HD Gen 2 uses Leupold’s Advanced Optical System, which offers solid clarity and contrast throughout the day.

The housing is constructed from magnesium, offering a balance between durability and weight. It's also built to be waterproof and fog-proof. An oversized eyepiece and swappable Form-Fit eyecup are included for improved viewing comfort. The SX-4 is available in both angled and straight body configurations, with magnification options of 15–45x65mm and 20–60x85mm and priced from $799.99.
The SX-2 Alpine HD Gen 2 is offered in an angled body only, in 20–60x60mm and 20–60x80mm variants. These are priced from $399.99.
Both the SX-2 Alpine HD Gen 2 and SX-4 Pro Guide HD Gen 2 spotting scopes include a built-in Arca-Swiss tripod adapter, making them directly compatible with a wide range of modern tripod heads without the need for additional plates. Other shared features include a large, easy-to-use focus ring, a generously sized eyepiece for improved comfort, and scratch-resistant lenses. The optics also feature Leupold’s Guard-ion coating, which helps keep the glass clear by repelling moisture, dust, and debris.
An interchangeable Form-Fit eyecup is included with both models, allowing users to adjust the eyepiece setup to better suit personal preferences or glassing positions.
As with most of Leupold’s optics, both spotting scopes are covered under the company’s lifetime warranty.
